The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria through a communiqué encourages the Joint Commission on Historical and Educational Affairs to continue more intensively with its efforts to complete its work on all periods of common history in accordance with Article 8 paragraph 2 from the Agreement for friendship and good neighborliness and cooperation.

In accordance with the agreements from the Protocol under Article 12 of the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborhood and Cooperation, signed on July 17, 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published on its official website the Minutes of the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission from Article 12, of held on June 10, 2019.

In the communique of the Bulgarian MFA, it is stated that with the Protocol signed in 2019, the Governments of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia have accepted the proposals of the Joint Multidisciplinary Expert Commission on Historical and Educational Issues for the joint commemoration by the figures of following from the common history of the two countries: Saint Cyril and Methodius, Saint Clement, Saint Naum and Tsar Samuel, as well as general principles and notes on the content of textbooks for the 5th grade in the Republic of Bulgaria and the 6th grade- in the Republic of North Macedonia, Prehistory and ancient history).

In the Article Protocol from July 12, 2022, writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, it was agreed that within one month both sides will officially publish all the results and recommendations of the work of the Joint Commission on Historical and Educational Issues.
