The Indian soldier who disappeared 38 years ago in the Himalayas, the authorities there announce that they have found his body.

Chandrashekhar Harbola and 19 of his colleagues were trapped in an avalanche while patrolling the Siachen Hill along the India-Pakistan border in 1984. Authorities managed to find 15 bodies, but not the other five.

However, after 38 years, they found Harboli's body as well as another one that has not yet been identified, Telegrafi reports.

His family lives in Haldwani in Uttarakhan, and the soldier will be buried with military honors in his native village.

This is not the first time that dead bodies of soldiers have been found after tens of years.

A patrol unit found the body of Tukaram V. Patil in 2014, 21 years after he disappeared in an avalanche.
