The runway was cleared by Air Force personnel and after necessary checks, the airport was opened for flight operations.

Pune:

A Sukhoi fighter jet's tire burst while landing in a minor accident at the Pune International Airport today, blocking the runway for some time.

News agency ANI gave this information.

Local media reported that the runway remained closed for two hours and passengers faced inconvenience as several flights were diverted towards Mumbai and other places.

During this, due to the closure of flights, the flight could reach late on time. 

Thereafter, the runway was cleared by the Indian Air Force personnel and after necessary checks, the airport was opened for flight operations.

The runway remained closed till 3.30 pm, affecting the arrival and departure of flights.

During this, SpiceJet also tweeted and wrote, "Due to closure of runway at Pune (PNQ) till 1530 hrs, all departures/arrivals and their resultant flights may be affected."

The runway operations of Pune airport are managed by the Indian Air Force, as there is no separate airport for civilian operations in the district.
