The US will actively use sanctions against Russia and Iran if Tehran gives Moscow a missile defense system.

According to the report of APA with reference to TASS, the spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, said this at a press conference.

Patel stressed that the State Department is closely monitoring whether US sanctions on arms trade are being followed.

Touching on the issue of Iran supplying Russia with anti-missile missiles, the spokesperson said that this is within the scope of sanctions: "This type of transaction is potentially within the scope of US legal acts."

The diplomat noted that Iran recently presented Russia with a sample of its self-made anti-aircraft missile.

Shock variants of these equipments are also available.
