Increasing the production capacity of SOCAR's Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, providing the country with high-quality fuel in accordance with EURO-5 standards, minimizing environmental impact, stable supply of raw materials to Azerkimya PU and export of oil products Modernization and reconstruction work is underway to increase its capacity.

SOCAR told APA-Economics that the program of operational excellence and sustainability is being implemented at the refinery within the project.

Within the framework of the program, the scope of work on the overhaul of the refinery for 2022 has been determined and a comprehensive action plan has been developed.

As a result, from April 4, 2022, "NEZ" overhaul was suspended.

Due to the volume and complexity of the work, it differs significantly from the repair work of previous years.

More than 2,000 workers from SOCAR and outside organizations will be involved in the repairs.

“SOCAR has taken necessary measures to ensure the uninterrupted supply of the country with relevant motor fuels during the overhaul period.

Thus, the former Azerneftyag oil refinery, which is part of the structure of the refinery, will continue to operate a number of facilities and will produce a certain amount of kerosene, diesel and gasoline, "the statement said.

In addition, the country's demand for diesel and kerosene fuels will be met by reserves formed at the refinery.

Relevant fuel reserves have been formed since February and are still being formed.

In this regard, domestic demand will be fully met during the overhaul of the refinery.
