President Rumen Radev

Rumen Georgiev Radev is a Bulgarian military man, major general from the reserve.

A former commander wrote a message in the condolence book in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, placed in the British residence in Sofia, BTA reported.

All about the topic:

The death of Queen Elizabeth II and the new crown prince 59

The head of state did not make a comment to the gathered journalists, but earlier in the day the press office of the presidential institution distributed a letter in which Radev expressed condolences to His Majesty Charles III, the royal family and the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the occasion of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"With her death, Great Britain and the world have lost a remarkable statesman who marked an entire era with his life and deeds," President Radev said in his letter of condolence.

Throughout the day, citizens and officials leave flowers and express their condolences in front of the embassy building and the British residence in Sofia.

Flags on both buildings remain at half-mast in mourning.
