Immediately after the start of the special military operation, official Kyiv expressed a positive attitude to the Russian proposals, but Ukraine was directly instructed to break the agreements.

APA reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin said this during his address to the nation.

In his speech, Putin also said that Ukrainian representatives responded positively to Russia's proposals during the negotiations held in Istanbul after the start of the special military operation.

He also noted that these proposals primarily addressed issues of ensuring Russia's security and interests.

"After a number of agreements were reached, official Kiev was instructed to break virtually all agreements and began to supply Ukraine with more weapons.

"At the same time, Western countries are pushing Kiev to military operations on Russian territory, and this indicates that Russia should be on the battlefield by all means."
