Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States on Tuesday of trying to prolong the conflict in Ukraine and "destabilize and complicate" the situation in Asia and the world with Nancy Pelosi's visit to Taiwan.

“The situation in Ukraine shows that the United States is trying to prolong this conflict.

And it acts in the same way, instigating the potential conflict in Asia, in Africa, in Latin America," Putin said in a video message to the participants of the X International Security Conference in the Russian capital.

The president declared that the "adventurous act" that the United States made in Taiwan (the visit of the president of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi), "is not simply the trip of an irresponsible politician, but an element of a well thought out strategy and projected to destabilize and complicate the situation in the region and the world.”

The maneuver "is a brazen demonstration of disrespect for the sovereignty of other countries and their own international commitments," the Russian president added.
