Russian occupation forces attacked southern Ukraine with seven "Shahed-136" kamikaze drones, five of which were shot down by air defense forces.

This is reported by the "Southern" air command.

"On the night of October 2, the Russian occupation forces attacked the Mykolaiv region with seven Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, five of which were destroyed by units of the Odesa anti-aircraft missile brigade and the Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigade of the South air command," the message reads.

We will remind,

on the night of October 2, the Russian army using kamikaze drones attacked the city of Kryvyi Rih.

Information about the first Shahed-136 drone shot down in Ukraine appeared on September 13.

The Armed Forces showed the remains of the destroyed UAV on the outskirts of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, the model was recognized by the characteristic stabilizers on the wings, although the Russians changed the marking to "Geran-2".

Experts said that the Armed Forces have already learned how to shoot down

"Shahed-136"

with the help of air defense systems, EW and even conventional small arms.

Drones have weaknesses, but Russia uses them to launch strikes instead of missiles.
