Incessant rains in Odisha have caused flood-like situation in many areas of the state.

A video of Junagadh block of Kalahandi district has surfaced.

Let us inform that due to the incessant rains, due to the strong flow in the Hati river, many areas of Junagadh block of Kalahandi district have been flooded.

Significantly, once again a low-pressure area is forming over the Bay of Bengal, due to which 'moderate floods' are being created in the Mahanadi of Odisha, while torrential rains have continued in the state for the last one week.

According to the Meteorological Center, the low pressure of air located about 70 km northeast of Balasore is now moving towards northwest.

Jena said that since the rains have intensified in some parts of the state including the upper catchment area of ​​Mahanadi, the state government is anticipating 'moderate floods' this time.

The administration had faced a similar situation in August 2019.

District officials have been asked to evacuate people from low-lying areas.

Jena, who reviewed the situation, said 22 rescue teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Odisha State Disaster Response Force (ODARF) and fire brigade have been sent to Puri, Khurda, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts as these places Floods are likely to be affected more than the probable causes.

Official sources said that the water level in the tributaries of Mahanadi like Luna, Karandiya, Chitrottala, Daya, Bhargavi, Rajua and Malaguni has also increased.
