The US space agency, NASA has encountered a bright object on Mars.

Their Perseverance Rover caught a sheet metal-like object during their routine wanderings.

But before we start speculating about aliens, the truth is probably much closer to us.

That is, it turned out that the material is NASA.

Experts posted the "weird" discovery on Twitter and said they thought it was a piece of thermal cover.

He has probably stayed there since Perseverance landed on the Red Planet in 2021.

When the picture is magnified, it is possible to see small dots that are common for thermal coverage.

A NASA representative said they are sure it is part of the cover, but are less confident about the exact part of the spacecraft, reports

"It is less clear from which part of the spacecraft it came or how exactly it got there.

"Our team believes it probably happened during the landing phase," said Andrew Good of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

He added that it is not known if he landed there after the accident or was picked up by the wind.

However, not everyone was impressed by this discovery.

Some, however, believe NASA is dumping debris on Mars.

"There are still no people there and we have already left rubbish," commented a disgruntled American citizen.

"We humans successfully left our rubbish there, even before we set foot there," added another Twitter user.
