The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca will travel today to The Hague, to meet with former KLA leaders who are being held in detention.

The news for the Telegraph was confirmed by Ilir Kërçeli, Chief of Cabinet of the Speaker of the Assembly.

Kërçeli has announced that he will meet with all former KLA leaders in The Hague.

"On Friday we travel, we will visit everyone", declared Kërçeli.

Regarding this visit, the Speaker of Parliament Konjufca said that they are making this visit in order to see closely how the former KLA leaders are being treated.

"It is clear that in some respects they are either violating their rights.

They are approaching the 2-year detention period and nothing has been done.

They were not even provided with protection at large.

We are concerned as institutions.

We will talk to Messrs. Thaçi, Selimi, Krasniqi and Veseli about these issues ", Konjufca declared for RTSH.

In The Hague, the former KLA leaders, in addition to visits by members and deputies of the PDK, also met with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama.

But they had refused a meeting with the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu.

Former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, former Democratic Party of Kosovo leader Kadri Veseli, former KLA General Staff member Rexhep Selimi and former KLA spokesman Jakup Krasniqi are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity.

They have been detained in The Hague since November 2020 and have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
