The occupiers beat, tortured and mocked the captured Ukrainian women.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk informed about this in an interview with "BBC Ukraine".

She emphasized that civilians held captive by the Russian Federation should be released, not exchanged.

However, the invaders do not let them go.

"We are talking about 2.5 thousand prisoners. People remain in captivity, and the

worst thing is that civilians remain there

. Civilians have not been released for several exchanges in a row. We must raise the question of the rube and demand the release of civilians. Civilians should be returned, not exchanged," - said Vereshchuk.

She noted that there are many women among the Ukrainian prisoners.

As part of the exchange, the invaders returned only a few of them to Ukraine.

"There are still a lot of women in captivity. If you take into account that

131 women left Azovstal, then imagine how many women are in captivity. Only a few have returned.

The women must be freed, they behave terribly. They abuse, they beat our women, they are torturing our women," the Deputy Prime Minister informed.

It will be recalled that on September 25, the doctor Maryana Mamonova, released from Russian captivity, gave birth to a girl.

The woman was taken prisoner together with the defenders of "Azovstal" in Mariupol.
