The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a telephone conversation today with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, whom he informed about the measures of reciprocity with Serbia that the Government of Kosovo will apply from September 1.

According to the announcement from the Office of the Prime Minister, Kurti has informed the Secretary General, Stoltenberg, that the citizens of Kosovo have been well informed about the upcoming measures, that the measures are fully in accordance with the laws and the Constitution of Kosovo, and that their implementation has been coordinated with the international community.

"Under the new measure of border crossing at the border crossings of Kosovo, on August 1, until 18:00, 2521 citizens with identification documents from Serbia had crossed.

They waited an average of only 20 seconds for this new procedure, as everything has been digitized by Kosovo's institutions.

The same procedure at the Serbian crossings lasts from 10 minutes to over an hour", said Kuti, Telegrafi reports.

"Prime Minister Kurti informed Secretary General Stoltenberg that the media controlled by the Government of Serbia have implemented a disinformation campaign over the last month, trying to build a false and negative narrative about these upcoming measures."

"It has already been proven that these disinformation campaigns are being helped by the Russian state, in the attempt to destabilize the Balkans," said Kurti.

According to the announcement, Stoltenberg has assured Prime Minister Kurti of the commitment and cooperation of NATO and KFOR to maintain peace and stability in Kosovo and the region.

Even the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has announced that he talked with Prime Minister Albin Kurti regarding the recent tensions in the north of Kosovo.

Through a post on Twitter, Stoltenberg said that all parties should maintain calm and avoid unilateral actions.
