The administrative procedures for employers when applying for a residence and work permit in Bulgaria for citizens from countries outside the European Union are simplified as much as possible.

This was said by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy Georgi Gokov

Georgi Gokov was born in the village of Lyubenovo, Radnevo municipality.

He graduated from high school in Stara Zagora during today's parliamentary control, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced. 

He cites data from the Migration Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, according to which in 2021 2,452 third-country nationals were granted the right to long-term residence and work in Bulgaria.

For the period from January 1 to March 21, 2022, their number is 854. 

Minister Gokov also presented to the deputies data on seasonal workers from non-EU countries.

In 2021, a total of 6,087 people were employed as such in Bulgaria.

Of these, 5,268 have registered employment for up to 90 days, and 819 have received a work permit from 90 days to 9 months.

Most of the seasonal workers are from Ukraine (3890) and Moldova (439).

They work mainly in the hotel and restaurant sector as maids, receptionists, waiters, bartenders, cooks, kitchen workers.

Their place of work is in almost all resorts on the Black Sea coast and in the mountain resorts of Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo.
