Foreigners and stateless persons cannot be members of a political party.

APA reports that this was reflected in the new draft law "On Political Parties".

According to the draft, a person who meets the requirements of Article 1.1.7 of this Law (a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan who has reached the age of 18 and is fully functional, admitted to a political party) can become a member of a political party.

A person can be a member of only one political party.

A member of a political party can be registered in only one local organization of the party.

No one can be forced to join or remain a member of any political party.

Membership in a political party cannot be limited by race, ethnicity, religion, language, sex, origin, creed or social affiliation.

Foreigners and stateless persons cannot be members of a political party.

Judges of the courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Human Rights Commissioner (ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, military personnel, as well as special-ranking employees of the prosecutor's office, justice, internal affairs, customs, emergency situations, migration, foreign affairs, tax authorities, the Broadcasting Council of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. members, general director and his deputies, members of the Board of Directors and the Accounting Chamber of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, religious figures, notaries cannot be members of the political party and cannot participate in the activities of the political party.

Those persons must leave the membership of the political party before starting work (service).

Other civil servants, except for the persons serving in the special type of civil service provided for in this Law, as well as public legal entities created on behalf of the state and implementing state policy in the relevant field and having the power of authority (supervision, inspection, issuance of legal documents or application of liability measures) employees holding administrative positions may be members of a political party, but may not participate in the activities of a political party while performing their duties.

The chairmen of trade unions or their deputies cannot be represented in the body of the political party at the same time.

The founders of the political party provided for in this Law are considered the members of the party.

A person's membership in a political party is terminated in the following cases:

- when a person withdraws from the membership of a political party based on his application;

- when a person dies or is declared dead by a court decision;

- when a person's citizenship of the Republic of Azerbaijan is terminated;

- when the person is considered to have limited capacity for action or is incapable of action by the decision of the court;

- when the person is expelled from the political party.

Maintains the register of political party members (with first name, surname, patronymic, as well as personal identification number, date of birth, registered address, local organization of the registered party (if any) and contact telephone number).

According to the law in force, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who have accepted the charter and program of the political party and have reached the age of majority can become members of the political party.

Political parties are registering their members.

No one can be forced to join or remain a member of any political party.

During the entire term of office, the chairpersons, deputy chairpersons and judges of all courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Human Rights Commissioner (ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, excluding military personnel, auxiliary technical staff, prosecutor's office, justice, internal affairs, state security, foreign intelligence, border employees of service, customs, finance, tax, feldiger communications, emergency situations, migration authorities, state press agencies, members of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Broadcasting Council, general director and his deputies, members of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, religious figures they cannot be members of political parties.

The persons listed in the third part of this article cease their membership in political parties during the entire period of election, service or work.

Access to political parties should be open to men and women under the same conditions and equal opportunities should be created for them.
