The Delhi Traffic Police on Wednesday issued a challan to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari for not wearing a helmet during the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' motorcycle rally in central Delhi's Red Fort area.

The officers provided this information.

Tiwari said on Twitter that he would pay the fine.

He tweeted, "Today, deeply sorry for not wearing a helmet.

I will pay the invoice.

All of you are requested not to ride a two wheeler without wearing a helmet.

A senior police officer said that the MP has been issued a challan for driving a motorcycle without wearing a helmet, without a license and without pollution and registration certificate.

He told that the owner of the two-wheeler has been challaned separately. Under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' being celebrated on the occasion of 75th anniversary of India's independence, many MPs including Union Ministers and young MPs started from Red Fort on Wednesday. Took part in the 'Tiranga Bike Rally'. This 'Tiranga Bike Rally' was organized with the aim of increasing the feeling of patriotism among the citizens of the country.
