In the Sanitation Survey-2022, South Delhi Municipal Corporation got the 28th position.

New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday said the places secured by the erstwhile municipal corporations of Delhi in the latest cleanliness survey have once again proved the "incompetence" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

At the same time, AAP has demanded the conduct of municipal elections in Delhi at the earliest.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has retaliated and vehemently rejected the allegation that the ranking of corporations in the cleanliness survey-2022 has fallen as compared to the previous year.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led party's reaction came a day after the Center released the results of the annual cleanliness survey.

The erstwhile North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has been placed in the last ten from the bottom out of 45 cities in the country.

In the Sanitation Survey-2022, NDMC got 37th position, East Delhi Municipal Corporation 34th and South Delhi Municipal Corporation 28th.

Reacting to the results of the survey, AAP's MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak termed Delhi's place in the cleanliness survey 2022 as "a matter of shame".

He said the results have once again "proved the incompetence of the BJP, which has been ruling the MCD for the last 15 years".

"The erstwhile SDMC has secured 28th position, which is three places up from last year's position," MCD said in a statement.

EDMC has been ranked 34th, which was 40 last year.

NDMC secured 37th position, which is a significant improvement of eight places as compared to last year's performance in the category of cities with population of more than one million.

In the survey-2021, NDMC was ranked 45th, EDMC 40th and SDMC 31st.

"Thus, to say that the rank of MCDs has fallen only in the last five-six years is not only a lie, but the efforts made by individuals, RWAs/MTAs and citizens to make Delhi clean," the corporation said. also defames.

The corporation accused AAP of crippling the city corporations over the years, saying funds under various heads were not provided regularly.

The MCD said that despite these difficulties, all the erstwhile corporations have "improved their previous year's ranking".
