Court finds Aung San Suu Kyi guilty of four corruption counts

A court in military-ruled Myanmar sentenced ousted leader Aung San Suu Kyi to six years in prison on Monday after being found guilty of four corruption counts.

Suu Kyi, a 77-year-old Nobel laureate and one of the staunch opponents of Myanmar's military regime, has been charged with 18 crimes ranging from corruption and election violations, news agency Reuters reported.

These cases carry a maximum sentence of 190 years. Let us inform that Aung San Suu Kyi had called the allegations absurd and denied all the charges against him.
