A forest fire raging in Bulgaria is approaching villages in the Turkish district of Edirne, and the flames sometimes reach frightening proportions, blown by the wind in the area, reports Turkish private television NTV, quoted by BTA.

The fire can be seen from villages close to the border in the area of ​​the Turkish city of Lyalyapaşa.

As of now, the fire has not yet spread from the Turkish side thanks to the Tunja River.

However, there are concerns that if the wind increases, the flames will reach Odrinsko, NTV reports.

The Turkish authorities announced that the fire service is ready to act against possible negative developments.
