Representatives of European Union member states and the European Parliament have reached an agreement on the rules governing the use of artificial intelligence, EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton said on Twitter.

MEP Brando Benifei, one of the two main negotiators of the European Parliament on the issue, also said in a post on the social platform that a deal had been reached.

The agreement comes after almost 15 hours of talks between the two sides after nearly 24 hours of debate the other day.
