"We discussed the key role that Ukraine can play in the EU's agenda – GreenEnergy and the accelerated integration of the Ukrainian energy system with the European one," Timchenko said on his Linkendin page.

The day before, at COP28, DTEK and Vestas signed a Memorandum of Understanding to complete the construction of the largest wind farm in Eastern Europe, a project supported by the European Commission and the governments of Ukraine and Denmark.

The installed capacity of the Tylihulska wind farm will be 500 MW, the total investment in the project will exceed 650 million euros.

The station will operate completely in competitive conditions, without the effect of the "green tariff" (state support).

DTEK is ready to start construction of the second stage of the wind farm in Q2 2024 and finish it at the end of 2025. Gradual connection of the installed wind turbines to the grid is expected from the end of 2024.

As noted in the company's message, the Tylihulska wind farm project was developed in accordance with the company's long-term strategy approved by DTEK shareholder Rinat Akhmetov to achieve carbon neutrality and integration into the single energy market of the European Union.
