The increase in the price of greenhouse cucumbers at the markets in Bulgaria continues this week. Their price increased by 22.9% to BGN 3.33 per kilogram, according to data in the weekly bulletin of the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (SCCBT). Of the fruits monitored by the Commission, oranges are the most significantly cheaper - by 16.4 percent to 2.40 leva per kilogram.

The Market Price Index (ITC), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in Bulgaria, increased minimally by 0.18% to 2.215 points during the week. Last week, ITC was at 2,211 points.

More expensive cucumbers, but cheaper oranges at the markets, reports SCCBT

The ITC level at the beginning of the year was 2,316 points, and in the first third of March it reached its spring maximum of 2,480 points. The base level of ITC - 1,000 points, is from 2005. According to the data, the price of tomatoes falls by 7.2% and they are traded at BGN 3.23 per kilogram.

Potatoes are cheaper by 0.8 percent to 1.28 leva per kilogram. The price of carrots rises by 6.2 percent to 1.03 leva per kilogram, of ripe onions onions (imported) - by 1.5 percent to 1.32 leva per kilogram.

Cabbage rises by 2.1 percent to 0.98 leva per kilogram, salad - by 2 percent to 1.02 leva per piece. The price of red peppers increased by 8.1% to BGN 2.27 per kilogram, and green peppers - by 11.3% to BGN 1.87. per kilogram. Imported apples are cheaper by 1.6% and are traded at BGN 1.85 per kilogram.

Lemons are traded 3.9 percent cheaper - 2.22 leva per kilogram. The price of bananas increased by 3.5 percent to BGN 2.96 per kilogram. Grapes rise by 11.3 percent and are bought for BGN 2.75 per kilogram.

The price of cow's cheese increased by 1 percent and it was sold at BGN 11.58 per kilogram, and Vitosha cheese - by the minimum of BGN 0.1 percent to BGN 17.57 per kilogram. Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) drops by 2.5 percent and is bought at 1.18 leva. for a bucket of 400 g, and milk (3 percent fat) - by 0.9 percent to 2.22 leva per liter. Chicken meat rises by 1.1% and is offered at BGN 6.41. per kilogram.

Eggs (size M) also rose by 5.7% and are bought at BGN 0.37 per piece wholesale at the end of the week. The price of rice remains unchanged and it is traded at BGN 3.18. per kilogram.

Lentils rise by 0.5% and are bought at BGN 4.17 per kilogram. Ripe beans rise by 1.2 percent to 4.17 leva per kilogram. Sugar fell by 1.7 percent and traded at BGN 2.33 per kilogram. Oil rose by 2.2 percent to BGN 2.75. per liter. Type 500 flour drops by 5.4 percent to BGN 1.23 per kilogram. The price of butter (a packet of 125 grams) rises by 3.8 percent and is sold at BGN 2.73. per count.
