A budget of BGN 19 108 166 from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund will be provided under the emergency financial assistance to farmers growing sunflower. The aid will be paid on the approved applications from the second reception under Ordinance No 11 of 28 July 2023 on the terms and conditions for granting emergency financial assistance to farmers growing sunflower, which ended on November 10, 2023, and farmers will receive BGN 23.45 per hectare, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced.
The aid aims to support farmers affected by the increased import of agricultural products as a result of the established corridors of solidarity between the EU and Ukraine. It complements the emergency aid paid to sunflower growers in September this year under the above-mentioned ordinance.
The aid is expected to be paid by 31 December 2023.
