The Union of Tourism Business in Bansko is very successful in reporting its performance at the tourist fairs this year. New market niches are opening up, old ones are coming back. Currently, most hotels and taverns are renovating their base to welcome the first guests in the winter after a successful summer season, says Zorka Tumbakeva. She expects a good winter season and hopes to have snow, BNR reported.

In the nearby village of Banya SPA hotels are busy all year round. Of course, they also prepare for their winter guests who choose the wonderful combination of ski and swimming pools with mineral water. Here we value Bulgarian tourists the most, says Yavor Kapitanov, whose hotel recently received the prize for the most innovative by the European SPA Association.

The consequences of the war in Ukraine, inflation and prices of fuel, energy and food create a serious problem, people in the tourism industry admit. The phenomenon - many tourists, little profit, has its limits, they say. In this situation, the most difficult thing is to maintain the quality of service.

The huge investment interest in spa tourism in Banya leads to another serious problem, not only with the limited resource of mineral water, says Yavor Kapitanov.

"I expect people in the industry to be active, to protect their rights and interests, to create a good and working environment. To be critical and unyielding when we need to, and to help when we need to."

We do not overlook the current topic of VAT refund from 9 to 20 percent in tourism. Zorka Tumbakieva believes that the rate should be differentiated.
