More revenues from overnight stays were reported in July by hotels in the district of Targovishte compared to the same period of 2022. Revenues for the summer month from 2023 are BGN 248,600, which is 7.1% more than last year. This is reported by the Regional Statistical Office – Northeast in Targovishte.
In July, 15 accommodation establishments with more than 10 beds - hotels, motels, chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation functioned in the district. The number of rooms in them is 323 and the beds - 625, BTA explains.
The total number of nights registered during the month is 4 034. This is 0.3 percent more than in the same month of the previous year. The Chief Expert at the Statistical Research Department pointed out that the nights spent by Bulgarian citizens increased by 3.4% and those by foreign citizens decreased by 16%.
Turkey has the largest relative share of nights spent by foreign citizens in accommodation establishments in the district - 46.9%, followed by the Netherlands - 11.5% and Romania - 7.5%.
The number of overnight stays in July 2023 increased by 17.4% compared to the corresponding month of 2022 and reached 2 264.
The total occupancy of bed-places in accommodation establishments in July 2023 was 20.8% and in comparison with the same month of the previous year decreased by 1.2 percentage points.
A BTA report shows that according to statistics at the end of last 2022, 12 accommodation establishments with more than 10 beds - hotels, motels, chalets and other short-term accommodation establishments - functioned in the district of Targovishte. The number of rooms in them is 254 and the beds - 477.
