GEITA, Bukombe: The Central Bank of Tanzania (BOT) intends to empower the country's miners to increase the production of gold that will be purchased by BOT.

This was said in Bukombe district, Geita province by Mining Minister Anthony Mavunde as he addressed a gathering of Bukombe citizens who turned out in large numbers to welcome Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Dr Dotto Biteko.

Mavunde said the government is developing a plan through the Export Credit Guarantee Scheme to look at how it will help small miners get financing.

"Aim to get money, mine and sell it to gold refineries so that when filtered it can be sold to the Central Bank." He said he was dead.

In addition, he has given five days to government experts to ensure they complete the plan to implement President Samia Suluhu Hassan's directive to require the BOT to buy gold for Tanzanian miners in good order.

On the part of Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Dr Dotto Biteko has called on the Ministry of Mines and BOT to speed up the 6000kg gold purchase process.
