U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy said Friday that the chamber would reconvene next week to begin voting on the latest plan. He has only five days until the September 30 deadline.
The far-right Republican wing has taken control and is demanding spending cuts in the United States.
Republican McCarthy was unable to persuade his rebel wing to agree to a temporary funding measure to prevent the shutdown.
Instead, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday will try to pass some individual spending bills in a process that is usually lengthy.
