The Minister of Transport, David Kihenzile and the Heads of the Ministry today 18 September 2023 visited Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC).

As well as introducing themselves, it was also an important opportunity to understand the organization's values, the work they do, including the implementation of strategic projects and organizational planning.

Speaking during the visit, Kihenzile urged the TRC to speed up project management and focus on value for money.

"President Samia Suluhu Hassan's vision is to see our nation become a transportation hub in our East, South and Central Africa region by taking advantage of the strategic opportunity given to us by God." He said he was going to add

"So it has to speed up a lot more to accommodate a lot of cargo and more passengers from the port and bring cargo to port." Said

The Ministry of Transport under its Minister Prof Makame Mbarawa will continue to put a strong emphasis on improving rail transport, airports, ships and major reforms to ports to increase productivity.
