Yesterday in the Sea Garden in Varna was officially opened the new small "Safe City as People", with which DSK Bank helps children learn the rules of the road in an interesting and fun way through play. Hundreds of children were participants in the traffic with their bikes and scooters on the new colorful space in the sea capital.

Throughout the day, the kids had the opportunity to learn the basic rules of the road through a short presentation by employees of the Traffic Police Varna, as well as through the specially made by DSK Bank card game STOP!. After acquiring new knowledge about signs and different types of traffic lights, the children applied what they had learned to the new colorful terrain, where they played different roles – as a pedestrian, a car driver or a cyclist.

Special guests at the opening were the Mayor of Varna Municipality, Mr. Ivan Portnih, as well as the Managing Director "Branch Network" at DSK Bank, Mr. Dimitar Ivanov.

"Varna Municipality has long focused on urban safety. Congratulations to the DSK Bank team, which chose our city because the municipality is the first in Bulgaria to pay attention to the low speed in the city back in 2017. Thank you for the partnership!" – shared Mr. Portnih.

"The war on the roads in Bulgaria is not from yesterday. We at DSK Bank have always believed that the future is built today. We believe that well-trained children today will be the sensible adults tomorrow. And unfortunately, lately it is obvious that we seriously need more responsible adults on the road. That is why our initiative "City as People" is back for its third edition and this year we created a "safe City like people", which aims to make the rules for safe movement accessible and interesting for young children. Because they are the most vulnerable road users, but they can also be the bearers of change for the better. As a company – a friend of the child, the bank has been investing efforts and resources in the care of adolescents and their development, education, and now in information about their safety, "said Dimitar Ivanov.

The new color space in the sea capital is the third terrain that the Bank's "City as People" initiative transforms for the benefit of society. This year the talented Varna artists from Kalkan Agency worked on the project.

Although the focus was on children and their awareness of road safety, the Prevention Directorate of Varna Municipality had also taken care of parents. Adults were able to put on special glasses that show exactly how blurred the driver's gaze is after drinking alcohol.

For even better awareness of children, DSK Bank is preparing a special mini digital project on the already painted terrain, which will soon be available on the bank's corporate social responsibility platform – DSK Bank Helps. With this project, the financial institution wants to give schools and kindergartens the opportunity to talk to children about road safety again in an interesting and fun way.
