Weak start in the stock market
Mumbai:The stock market started weak on Thursday. In the morning, both the major indices Sensex and Nifty were trading with the red mark. The Sensex was trading 125 points lower at 65754. While the Nifty was trading 31 points lower at 19579.
Let us know that on Wednesday, the local stock market closed with gains for the fourth consecutive trading session after fluctuations amid a strong trend in Asian markets. Buying in HDFC Bank played an important role in this boom. The 30-share BSE index ended 100.26 points, or 0.15 per cent, higher at 65,880.52 after a close hour of buying. During the day, the index fell 292.23 points to 65,488.03.
Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty rose 36.15 points, or 0.18 per cent, to close at 19,611.05. This was the fourth consecutive trading session of the rise in the domestic stock markets. Top gainers in the Sensex pack included Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Titan, ITC, UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, HUL and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
On the other hand, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, NTPC and ICICI Bank were among the laggards.
