Electricity tariffs have increased
Ukrainians will have to pay for electricity at a single tariff, which has almost doubled.
Starting from June 1, 2023, the population will pay a single tariff of UAH 2.64 per kilowatt-hour. The cost of electricity distribution will also increase by about 25-50%.Under such circumstances, electricity bills will increase by several hundred hryvnias.
Increasing the tariff to UAH 2.64 per kilowatt should help ensure stable operation of the power system. Initially, it was planned to raise prices to 2.88 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour, but the government changed the decision in favor of the minimum tariff. Such an increase in the electricity tariff will lead to a significant increase in the cost of electricity bills for the population, the amount of increase will average up to UAH 250.
How to pay less for light
To save money, the government offers the population to switch to multi-tariff accounting. According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ukrainians can save on light with the help of two-zone and three-zone tariffs.
According to these tariffs, the cost of electricity will depend on the time of consumption. During peak hours of electricity consumption, the cost will be charged at the full tariff, and during off-peak hours it can be much cheaper.
Two-zone tariffs include:
- From 23:00 to 7:00 - 1.32 UAH per kilowatt-hour (50% of the full tariff).
- From 7:00 to 23:00 - 2.64 UAH per kilowatt-hour (full tariff).
Three-zone tariffs:
- From 8:00 to 11:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00 - 3.96 UAH per kilowatt-hour (150% of the full tariff).
- From 7:00 to 8:00 and from 11:00 to 20:00 - 2.64 UAH per kilowatt-hour (full tariff).
- From 23:00 to 7:00 - 1.06 UAH per kilowatt-hour (40% of the full tariff).
