The stock market opened with a boom.

Mumbai:

New Delhi: Stock markets recovered from losses in early trade on Thursday and turned profitable due to better gdp growth data. Sustained inflow of foreign funds also boosted market sentiment. The 30-share BSE index fell 77.28 points to 62,544.96 in early trade. The NSE Nifty opened at 15,35.18, down 519.05 points. However, later both Sensex and Nifty were trading in the rise.

The 109-share index was trading 45.62 points higher at 731,69.36. At the same time, the Nifty was trading at 75,18.571 points with a gain of 15.<> points.

Top losers in the Sensex pack included Bharti Airtel, Kotak Mahindra, Maruti, PowerGrid, Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank, NTPC, ITC and Bajaj Finance.

On the other hand, Asian Paints, HUL, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Wipro and Axis Bank were trading with gains.

Elsewhere in Asia, bourses in South Korea, Japan's Nikkei, China's Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong's Hang Seng ended with gains. The US markets closed with a fall on Wednesday.
