Wall Street's main indexes opened lower as a deal to raise the debt ceiling turned to a vote in the U.S. Congress amid a new batch of corporate results showing the impact of inflation on their business.

Industrial Dow Jones fell 94.07 points, or 0.28 percent, at an opening to 32,948.71.

The broader Standard & Poor's 500 reported a drop of 14.78 points, or 0.35 percent, to 4,190.74 points.
