In the Ukrainian markets and in stores since the beginning of this week there has been a decrease in the cost of onions. Selling prices were formed in the range of 40-46 UAH per kilogram. This is on average 11% cheaper than a week earlier.

This was reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.

Experts call the main reason for the decline in prices for this vegetable mass supplies of onions of the new harvest from Ukrainian farms. By the way, this season the sale of winter onions started on average 1.5 weeks earlier than last year.

It is noted that last year's market of local products is no longer left. For the most part, onions of the 2022 harvest of imported production are offered on the market. Prices for last year's imported products are slightly higher, but their quality is poor. That is why, from a week, most wholesale companies almost completely reoriented to the purchase of onions of the new harvest from Ukrainian farms.

Recall that for the year in Ukraine food prices increased by 21.7%. Eggs have risen in price the most – by 129.3%.
