Trading in the stock market
Mumbai:The stock markets are seeing international pressure on Wednesday morning. The impact of america's debt deal and increasing tension between Saudi Arabia and Russia is visible. Both Sensex and Nifty are under some pressure in early trade this morning. The Sensex is down 131 points at 62837 and the Nifty is down 32 points at 18601. In the Nifty 50, 18 stocks are showing advances in the morning, while 32 stocks are showing a decline. HDFCLIFE, APOLLOHOSP, HCLTECH, ASIAPAINT, TATAMOTORS ARE AMONG THE TOP GAINERS HERE. While the shares that fell today include ONGC, Hindalco, JSWSTEEL, Bajaj Finsv shares.
On the other hand, 2703 shares are being traded on BSE today. Advances are visible in 1328 shares while decline is visible in 1271 shares. As many as 94 stocks have touched 52-week highs while 15 stocks are at their 52-week lows. On the BSE, 115 stocks have an upper circuit while 91 stocks have a lower circuit.
Significantly, the domestic stock markets continued to rise for the fourth consecutive trading session on Tuesday and the BSE Sensex was up by about 123 points. The local market was mainly supported by continued buying by foreign institutional investors and positive trend in other Asian markets. Key indices were trading in gains, led by gains in financial, bank, capital goods and industrial stocks. However, selling in select metal, IT and oil and gas stocks put some curbs on the rally.
The 122-share index ended 75.0 points or 20.62 per cent higher at 969,13.189. During the day, the index had gained 74.63 points to touch the day's high of 036,12.35. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty rose 20.0 points, or 19.18 per cent, to close at 633,85.<>.
The stock markets have been bullish since Thursday last week. During this period, the Sensex gained 1,195 points and the Nifty gained 348 points.
ITC, a diversified group, was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, rising 2.31 per cent. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, Axis Bank, HCL Technologies, Wipro, UltraTech Cement, Maruti and Infosys were among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra, Nestle, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Motors and Titan were among the losers. BSE smallcap (small companies) rose 0.22 percent and midcap (midcap (mid-cap) gained 0.16 percent.
