President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held an online meeting with the management of BAE Systems, which plans to open production in Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

"We discussed the localization of production in Ukraine. We agreed to start work on opening an office of BAE Systems in Ukraine, and subsequently - facilities for repair and production of the company's products," the president said.

The head of state said that Ukraine could become a powerful hub for the repair and production of various types of products of BAE Systems.

"We are ready to become a major regional hub for the repair and production of various types of products of BAE Systems and are interested in more global relations than those that exist now," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

British multinational BAE Systems is a manufacturer of M2 and M3 Bradley armored combat vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers, M109 Paladin and Archer self-propelled howitzers, M777 howitzers, Challenger tanks and much more. The company is also the main partner in the program for the production of F-35 Lightning II fighters.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about new sanctions against Russia and enterprises that help the occupying army in the war against Ukraine.

In addition, we previously reported that the European Commission has allocated a new tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine worth EUR 1.5 billion.
