In the office of the new head of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Yevhen Lyashchenko on Tuesday, May 30, NABU conducts searches. He is suspected of corruption.

It is reported by the publication "Glavcom" with reference to its own sources in NABU.

Yevhen Lyashchenko, who worked for Rinat Akhmetov until 2019, headed Ukrzaliznytsia only two months ago. On May 30, it became known that he was suspected of large-scale abuses, in particular, kickbacks during tenders of the railway monopolist. At the same time, sources of the publication claim that the organizer of the criminal scheme is another person from Lyashchenko's entourage.

The Supervisory Board of Ukrzaliznytsia plans to convene a meeting to remove Lyashchenko from the Chairman of the Board of UZ.

Appointment of Yevhen Lyashchenko to the post of Chairman of the Board of UZ: what is known

In March 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers terminated the powers of Ukrzaliznytsia's Chairman of the Management Board Oleksandr Kamyshin ahead of schedule and appointed Yevhen Lyashchenko to this position.

Since 2012, Lyashchenko has been the CFO of Media Group Ukraine. From July 2014 until 2019, he was a director of the holding, which was part of the media business of Rinat Akhmetov's SCM Group.

Lyashchenko became a member of the board of "UZ" in October 2021.
