The European Central Bank (ECB) needs to raise its leading interest rates at least twice more by 25 basis points.

This was stated by the central banker of the Netherlands and member of the Governing Council of the ECB Klaas Knot, quoted by Reuters, Nova TV reported.

After saying markets were "overoptimistic" about future rate hikes, Knot said: "I think whenever we reach the maximum value of interest rates, we will have to stick there for a while."
