Electricity

tariffs for Ukrainians will be reviewed.

It is likely that such an increase will take place from June 1 or from July 1, 2023.

Energy expert Gennady Ryabtsev announced this on the air of the "1+1" TV channel.

He noted that energy companies are currently operating at a loss, as neither they nor the state have other sources that would allow for the restoration of the energy system.

The increase in tariffs will make it possible to increase the salaries of energy workers and other workers of critical infrastructure, as well as to carry out emergency and restoration work.

"Unfortunately, the only way out of the current situation is to raise prices. Raising prices to 5-10 hryvnias per kWh is an unsustainable increase for most households. Therefore, several options for increasing the cost of energy carriers are now proposed, in particular, increasing prices from 1, 44- UAH 1.68 per kWh to UAH 2.4-2.8 per kWh," he noted.

Earlier, the gas supply company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" announced that its annual
