[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report] Icelandair Group (Icelandair Group) announced on Friday (7th) that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus (Airbus), and its Icelandair (Icelandair) will purchase from Airbus. Although delivery will start in 2029, Icelandair plans to start using Airbus aircraft in 2025, and is still conducting high-level negotiations. It hopes to lease four Airbus A321LRs as a goal.

With the Airbus purchase, Icelandair will complete the replacement of the Boeing 757, which has been the mainstay of Icelandair's operations since 1990.

By the end of 2022, all 31 aircraft in Icelandair's fleet will be Boeing.

Icelandair stated that the fleet will still be Boeing until 2025. After Airbus delivers the first batch of aircraft, it will operate with a mixed fleet of Boeing and Airbus.
