The daily demand for eggs in Taiwan is about 23-24 million eggs. Dacheng (1210), Carpenter Feng (1215), Fushou (1219), Maosheng Agricultural Economics (1240) and other large factories only supply more than 3 million eggs per day, accounting for the total The market demand is only about 15%, and the industry is actively looking for land to raise laying hens and expand factories, hoping to resolve the egg shortage storm.

Dacheng egg product industry chain one-stop

Dacheng Group is the most successful "one-stop" egg manufacturer in Taiwan. It has built a complete egg industry chain from laying hen feed, breeding, washing, processing to transportation fleet. Dacheng currently has 4 egg washing and sorting factories, which are self-raised and contracted every day. The egg supply of the layer hens raised is about 11,000 boxes (about 200 eggs per box), which is equivalent to about 2 million eggs per day, and the market share is about 10%.

Han Jiayu, chairman of Dacheng Group, said that because Taiwan’s egg washing and liquid egg market is in short supply, Dacheng is accelerating the pace of building an egg washing and sorting factory. It has signed a cooperation agreement with Japan’s Showa Industry and invested more than 1 billion to build the largest in Changhua. The world-class flagship egg factory will introduce Japanese technology to produce "raw food-grade" eggs, driving Taiwan's egg industry to upgrade again.

At present, Dacheng Changhua Zhaocheng Plant has started trial operation and is expected to be put into operation in the middle of this year. By then, it can wash up to 240,000 eggs per hour, which is higher than the average speed of 10,000 to 30,000 eggs per hour in general washing plants. It will produce 8,400 boxes per day. Washed eggs (about 1.68 million pieces), 3,500 boxes of liquid eggs (about 700,000 pieces), 1,400 boxes of boiled eggs (about 280,000 pieces).

Dacheng Chiayi’s newly-built egg washing factory is also in trial operation and is expected to be put into operation in the middle of this year. By then, it will be able to supply 4,200 cartons of washing eggs (about 840,000 eggs) per day. The current production capacity will be doubled. With the expansion of production capacity, Dacheng estimates that its market share in Taiwan's egg market will challenge 20% within 3-5 years, and gradually replace the original 4 old egg washing factories.

CP raises 800,000 laying hens

Zheng Wuyue, chairman of Taiwan's CP Feng, said that CP currently has 7-8 self-operated laying hen farms in Taiwan, with upright and flat breeding. The egg sorting factory can wash and sort up to 196,000 eggs per hour, and the average daily supply of washed eggs is about 600,000. Taiwan's CPP this year aims to raise 1 million laying hens. By then, the daily supply of washed eggs can be Up to 800,000 pieces.

Fushou Foods, which is famous for producing grass-fed eggs, now raises laying hens in ways such as outdoor grazing, cage-free feeding, and fully intelligent environment-controlled closed water curtain cage feeding. There are about 100,000 self-raised white layer hens. There are about 20,000 to 30,000 brown laying hens in China, and there are other contractual egg farmers. The current annual output of white eggs is about 1,800 tons (about 30 million eggs), and the annual output of welfare red eggs is 260 tons (about 4.35 million eggs).

Hong Yaokun, chairman of Fushou, said that "there must be a shortage of eggs", because the avian flu epidemic caused laying hens to be culled, which affected the number of laying hens, and the cost of chicks and feed was too high, which affected the willingness of egg farmers to raise them. The company is actively looking for eggs in central China. Due to the many standards and specifications of building a laying hen factory, it is very difficult to review the expansion of the factory. If the new factory is successfully built, the egg production capacity will be doubled this year.
