PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is angry with the increase in funds to buy a new Air Tanzania cargo plane contrary to the previous agreement.

Speaking immediately after receiving the report of the Auditor General of Government Accounts (CAG), Charles Kichere and the Director General of the PCC, Salum Hamduni, President Samia expressed his anger and claimed that the project to build a cargo plane, for which the government is about to receive the last installment (payment the last one) was to pay 37 million dollars.

"The invoice has arrived, we have to pay 86 million dollars...are you asking what the contract said?"

Where did this happen?

Oh, the equipment has gone up in price, what did our contract say?

"The person who received it is still bringing this government to be paid, that's the invoice we have received... 'stupid', what action have you taken when you received it, have you asked?

What have you done if you look at it in detail, the increase has started here, there are people who have spoken there," he shouted and added:

"We can't go like that. I think those who receive those invoices bring them at their own pleasure to the government and throw them away, they don't deserve to be in those positions if they deserve to receive them there," he questioned.

"After questioning, he said I received this, I was told this, but I still asked to do this, you understand him, but someone receives it just for his own pleasure, he brings it to the government, there is that 'invoice' that has come, the equipment has increased after covid.. it's stupid, it's impossible, ministers help us with 'over invoicing' there are too many."

However, President Samia has thanked the Institute for Prevention and Combating Corruption (Pakukuru) for being able to save 248.45 billion Sh.

"I thank the Tax Office, you were able to save some money, many bad contracts are entered into there, when you call them to ask them why you signed this feature, they just roll their eyes... completely careless contracts, people are just interfering, the Tax Office, continue with that work and that's where the call is.
