stock market closed flat

Mumbai:

The stock market closed flat today.

Both the indices closed in the red with a slight decline.

While the Sensex recorded a decline of 40 points, the Nifty recorded a decline of 34 points.

Sensex closed at 57613 and Nifty at 16951.

It is noteworthy that due to strong trend in Asian markets and buying in shares of Reliance Industries, HDFC and IT companies, the domestic stock market gained momentum and Sensex, Nifty opened with gains in early trade on Tuesday.

During this period, the BSE Sensex based on thirty shares rose by 295.59 points to reach 57,949.45 points.

At the same time, the NSE Nifty climbed 76.05 points to 17,061.75 points.

On the Sensex, Tata Steel, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank, HCL Technologies, Wipro, HDFC Bank and HDFC were trading with gains.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Power Grid and Nestle were among the losers.

In Asian markets, Seoul, Japan, Hong Kong and Shanghai bourses were trading with gains.

American markets also closed with a mixed trend on Monday.
