[Reporter Yang Yuanting/Taipei Report] The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Czech Republic, Adamova, recently led a delegation to visit Taiwan. A total of more than 30 people together with the country’s Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Halikova, and members of the delegation from the field of science and technology, visited Wu Zhengzhong, Chairman of the National Science and Technology Council today (27th) , the two sides focused on the cooperation and talent cultivation in the semiconductor field between the two countries. Wu Zhengzhong said that he would assist the Czech Republic in developing chip design and research capabilities, and would also assist the Czech Republic in establishing a physical chip design and research center.

Adamova led a delegation to visit Taiwan, including Halikova, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology who visited the National Council of Science and Technology in September last year, Petr Očko, Director General of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Vice President of Charles University and Vice President of Czech University of Technology, etc. People from industry, government and academia show that Czech leaders attach great importance to bilateral cooperation with Taiwan in science and technology. Wu Zhengzhong said that he will share Taiwan's experience in promoting semiconductor design, assist the Czech Republic in developing chip design and research capabilities, and provide Czech project scholarships and seed teacher training across ministries. Assist the Czech Republic to establish a physical chip design research center to build Czech chip design capabilities and train related chip design talents. It is expected that Taiwan and the Czech Republic will establish a closer partnership through cooperation in more fields of science and technology.

Adamova expressed that the House of Representatives is willing to support Taiwan and the Czech Republic to strengthen cooperation in semiconductor technology in the future; Wu Zhengzhong said that the bilateral scientific and technological cooperation has been closely cooperated in the past. The Academy of Sciences (CAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding for soliciting bilateral cooperation projects, and the two sides continue to jointly subsidize cooperative research and personnel exchange projects every year.
