Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today 26 March 2023 has inspected the construction project of the modern railway SGR Mwanza-Isaka, the fifth piece of the railway construction phase one Dar es Salaam-Mwanza.

This section of Mwanza-Isaka has a total of 341 kilometers, until its completion it will cost 3.062 trillion shillings.

The stretch will have a total of 10 passenger stations and two freight stations at Fela and Isaka.

The progress of the construction has reached 28.03 percent and the construction of the embankment is 58.4 percent equal to 136 kilometers out of 249 kilometers of highways.

The project has provided more than 6,720 jobs and sub-contracts worth 80 billion shillings so far.

After inspecting the project, Prime Minister Majaliwa said he was pleased with the progress of the construction of the project, while calling on the people of those areas to be the guardians of the equipment and machinery used in the construction.
