(Central News Agency) U.S. stocks overcame early weakness to close higher on hopes that the turmoil in the banking sector may be calming, despite a plunge in First Republic Bank shares.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 382.60 points, or 1.20%, to close at 32244.58 points.
