(Central News Agency) European stocks closed higher today, led by banks, after UBS's bid to buy Credit Suisse and central banks boosting liquidity to prevent a banking crisis.

London's FTSE 100 index rose 68.45 points, or 0.93%, to close at 7403.85 points.
