Tensions are brewing among grain producers, and I dare say - not unfounded.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Georgi Sabev in the program "Speak Now" on BNT.

"Signals are that the duty-free import of a number of goods from Ukraine will continue, will be extended for another 1 year, i.e. what happened last year has the potential to continue if adequate measures are not taken," said Sabev .

According to him, the opening of the crisis reserve of the European Union will help grain producers, whose warehouses are currently full of grain.

Discussions are currently underway in all European institutions for an urgent revision of the multi-year financial framework, as it was agreed before the covid crisis and the war in Ukraine, Deputy Minister Georgi Sabev added.

The ambition is to have a political solution by the end of the year.

It is high time for the injustice with different levels of support to be overcome, our producers must be placed on an equal footing, Sabev also commented.
