[Financial Channel/Comprehensive Report] It was reported last year that Tesla, the leader in electric vehicles in the United States, will set up a factory in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador objected to this, and even said that if Nuevo Leon lacks water resources, Tesla will not be able to obtain a factory construction permit.

However, foreign media reported that after Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador had a call with Tesla CEO Musk on Monday (27th), Tesla's investment in Mexico has been basically finalized.

Reuters quoted several Mexican officials as saying that Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said after the call with Musk on Monday that "Tesla will come to Mexico."

Another Mexican official said that "the call between the two parties went very smoothly" and "the two sides have completed 90% of the agreement", adding that the details of the agreement between Mexico and Tesla are expected to be announced on Tuesday (28th).

Neither Tesla nor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's office responded to requests for comment on the report.
